That went well.

They need to do a spin-off show about the Sarek household.  Also, I want the door to Spock’s room.

I’m now intensely curious about Vulcan design aesthetic. A little boy has enough open space in his bedroom to install a koi pond, park a few 747s, host a Cirque du Soleil performance, and still have plenty of room for a king-sized bed.

I don't understand what is happening in that comic. They were married? she's dead? he has human ears?!

Read it all, it’s worth it!
Basically, the scene from the preview and that “basic instict” Uhura pic I posted is from the regular aos reality where s/u are happily living their sabbatical on new vulcan still, after calling their friends on Kirk’s temporary’s ship.

That bones/spock scene is from another reality, instead, where Spock got raised on earth by single mom Amanda and he rejects everything vulcan (they treated him and his mom so bad he’s repulsed by vulcans it seems), and is named Simon Grayson. And yes, Nyota was his wife (unless Uhura’s name isn’t Nyota here, it should be her.  The thing about her first name and who is allowed to say it seems to be a nod to the first movie too) and someone apparently killed her :(( (nothing more is said about that or her yet, so I don’t know if she’s assumed dead only)
It’s interesting because it seems that, on one hand, Simon-Spock is even more a mess than regular Spock (having his ears altered to hide his vulcan heritage? That hints a huge conflict and pain in the dude) but I guess, as he met Nyota and fell for her in this reality too, and since the loss of Vulcan didn’t affect this version of him like it affected our Spock, it was easier for him and his Uhura to make choices for their relationships such as marry and all sooner …but then they killed her so now he’s a mess anyway, and everything he wants is finding the one who killed her and kill them with “his bare hands”  (that whole “my friends can’t say her name because I’m unworthy of hearing it” like whoa my dude. Simon Grayson is one sad and angry boy)
I also think that this Spock might have some things in common with Jim from the regular aos reality, which further explains why he’s Bones’ best friend here (that scene itself is deliberately reminescent of the drink scene from Beyond. Also, sometimes this fandom forgets that but Kirk is the only one who calls McCoy ‘Bones’)
If Spock wants to be only human, the Kirk from this reality wants to be klingon because he got raised by them and let me tell you, he’s even more a mess than this Spock is.

These comics will show different realities besides this one and I’m curious to see them all! I always liked the concept of IDIC.

Star Trek Boldly Go #13 - IDIC part 1

You know you are in a different reality when Bones advises Spoc-Simon Grayson to be more vulcan and they are best friends ^
(not that different when it comes to the women the half vulcan boy loves, though)
